What is the Erasmus+ Mobility Program?

Erasmus+ (Erasmus Plus) is European Union’s new program covering the following areas: education, training, youth and sports for the period 2014-2020. Its objectives are to develop skills and employability by providing opportunities for education, training, sports or youth activities.

What are study mobilities?

The Erasmus+ program allows students from universities in Timișoara to apply to study abroad at universities in European Union countries and partner countries.

What are Plasements?
-
This type of mobility allows students to undertake a placement (internship) in a company or organization in another European Union country. Host organizations for student placements can be companies, training centers, research centers, and other organizations, including higher education institutions. Placement is another name for the concept of internship.

What is the Erasmus+ mobility period I can benefit from?

You can benefit from up to 12 months of Erasmus+ mobility per academic cycle (bachelor's, master's, doctorate). The 12 months can be divided between study and placement mobility as each student wishes, provided that study mobility is for a minimum of 3 months (it is recommended that mobility be for one semester at a time) and placement mobility is for a minimum of 2 months.

Who can benefit from such mobilities?

Each university has its own conditions for benefiting from Erasmus+ study mobility, and these can be found at the International Relations Department of the university where you study.

Will I receive the scholarship?
-
The amount for study mobility is €500/month (except for mobility taking place in Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary—for these countries, the grant amount is €450/month).

For students with limited opportunities (those who receive a social scholarship or those who meet the conditions for obtaining a social scholarship), if they have been selected for Erasmus+ study mobility, €200/month is added to the above grants.
